Restorative Justice Mediation Sessions are for those moments when conflict has gone too far, but you know throwing a child out of school or into court will not solve the real problem. We step in as certified restorative justice practitioners to slow everything down, hear every voice, and rebuild the human connection that was broken.
In a typical session, we bring together the young person, the person harmed, and any key adults. Everyone has space to speak honestly about what happened, how it felt, and what they need now. Instead of arguing about who is "right," we focus on impact, responsibility, and repair. Youth learn they are not just their worst mistake; they are capable of owning harm and making it right.
Schools and families use these sessions as an alternative to suspension, expulsion, or police referral. We address fights, repeated disrespect, classroom blowups, hallway or social media conflicts, and tensions between students and staff. Because we understand how discipline records follow Black boys, we work to keep doors to education and employment open, not slammed shut.
Every mediation is structured, time-bound, and guided by clear agreements. By the end, participants help design a concrete plan: apologies that mean something, check-ins, community service, academic support, or business/leadership coaching when a young man is ready to grow beyond the incident.
For schools, community programs, and families, these sessions reduce repeated incidents, strengthen trust, and show young people that accountability and dignity can exist together. If you are facing a conflict that feels like it could change a young man's entire future, our Restorative Justice Mediation Sessions offer a path back to relationship, responsibility, and hope.
